The C-Word UNCENSORED Alice Workman

“It’s hard to have a conversation these days in which the C word China doesn’t appear quite early on, maybe within a few sentences. I think that’s absolutely true in US-Australia relations.” - GEOFF GARRETT, ABC PM

Geoff Garrett, chief executive of the United States Studies Centre at Sydney University, on 702 ABC flagship current affairs program PM, hosted by Mark Colvin, this afternoon on Julia Gillard’s obsession with China.

I had NO IDEA that China was the c-word!

I always thought the c-word meant, you know, a lady’s mermaid bits… not a reference to our noodle loving neighbours to the North.

So by that same logic, is this the reason why my favourite pop songs are censored?

Not because they’re a little bit rude, but because they’re a little bit COMMUNIST?

It will really make me think twice next time Julia Gillard mentions Kevin Rudd’s strong relationship with China….

You know what they say, the best part of censorship ship is - oh wait, NO, there is NO good part about censorship! So I think it’s time that we pulled back the bamboo curtain and had another listen to the UNCENSORED versions of songs to see what they really sound like. So I cut together a mash up of song of my favourite songs, with the c-word veil lifted.
